We were allowed to test drive the EV9 on a local highway for several hours, and found it easy to drive, and comfortable to drive for long distances. The EV9 can be used to block road noise and wind while driving on the highway. It is smooth on ruts and humps. The vehicle's acceleration is surprising quick, and it has adjustable regenerative brakes to enable “one-pedal driving” simply by releasing the accelerator. The EV9 has a great range and can be fully recharged within three hours at home, or using any commercial charger. Drivers can select between two modes of operation including eco mode and sports mode. Eco mode focuses on the power, cruise control and handling while sport mode focuses on speed. GreenPower produces approximately 10 EV Star busses a month for Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their older diesel vehicles fleet with 100 electric cars. GreenPower will increase production to meet the needs of the Biden Administration, which is looking to electrify all school buses in America. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA certified.
